While Val was at Reading beer festival getting very drunk, I went around to Sue's. Not too surprisingly for the Old Dean, some scrot had set fire to the woods at the back of the house. Sue was convinced her house was going to burn down so she called the fire brigade.

No tree were damaged in the taking of the photograph, though a bit of the undergrowth got burnt! 

Feeding frenzy if your a fish anyway. They seem to be eating even more the last year if that's possible. I think they scoffed about 6 handfuls of fish food today. How much will they once the water gets really warm? 

The peach tree is in flower so it must be spring! 

Well we're all back safely from Venice and the world seems to have survived without my input for the week.

Venice was interesting but it did look like nobody had bothered rendering or painting the place for a couple of hundred years.

We got out of Venice for a couple of days. This place is Basano (or something like that), famous for its grappa. Grappa tastes just like any other distilled spirit. Not a lot to it by itself but takes on the flavour of whatever you put it in. 

I went out for trundle around a few more byways yesterday. I think going out down tracks I didn't know after some rain was not my cleverest idea.

Needless to say, I got stuck in a deep rut amd was going no where fast. Val and Wills had to come out and rescue me. It took about 3 hours of pushing and pulling before we got it onto dry ground.

That'll teach me to learn to ride off road on such as fat bike! 

Well I've found why my shed roof has been leaking. There is a hole in the roof that looks suspiciously like it was made by a squirrel. 

My shed roof has been leaking over the past few days so I've removed some of the insulation to see what's going on. No signs of any water getting in but plenty of signs of squirrels getting in!
