Off with the old...

Posted by Picasa

My new wheels from http://www.central-wheel.co.uk/ turned up today so I spent the afternoon honing my wheel changing skills. I've been out for a ride with the new tyres and nothing has fallen off so it must all be ok.

Unsurprisingly, the new tyres (Michelin Pilot Road) are so much better than the knobblies on the road. Also as the wheels are slightly smaller, I can get the flat of my feet on the ground! Posted by Picasa

Riding a bike thorugh the church

Well Thursday evening was spent at church giving a short talk about motorbikes to the church going youth of the area. They seemed to quite enjoy it.

Cie turned up to assist, which was very public spirited of him. And yes, we did ride our bikes into the church (well I did, Cie couldn't get his up the steps and had to push it up the disabled ramp).

I think the part they enjoyed most was reving the nuts of the bikes. Mine ended up shedding mud all over of the floor, which I suppose is on way of cleaning it.

Salisbury Plain 2

Spent a fantastic day out on Salisbury Plain with the guys from xrvf.org.uk. I only fell off once, which is pleasing. The highlight was fording a river - over the headlights for some people!

The worst bit was at the end when we came upon some lads on mini motos. One of them got run over and ended up being taken to casuality by his dad. We didn't call the police in the end but no doubt they would've had their bikes crushed if we had.

There's the the usual discussion about the ride in the xrv forum:
